Maui - Part 3

So Josh had a fever of about 102 on Thursday (thus the diaper).  Again, all he needed was his water bottles
He had done it once or twice at home before we left, but he can now crawl up on the couches.  He gets up and just sits there with a huge smile on his face

Why won't it go in???

This dinner was Friday (Adam's birthday), so he got a special dessert.

So I was talking to Kevin (my old roommate who now lives in Chicago) about a month ago, and just as we were about to hang up, he mentioned that they were going to Maui - we quickly figured out that we'd be staying only a couple miles away from each other on partially overlapping days.  He called me Thursday, but I told him that Josh had a fever (and everyone else was getting sick), and understandably he wanted no part of it (and I would have hated to get his kids sick).  We decided we wouldn't be able to see each other, which was a bummer.  Anyway, as we were eating our appetizers, Adam tells me to turn around  - and who is sitting behind us but Kevin, Katie and their family!  It was very odd, since we had a super early dinner.  How random is that!  I'm glad we got to see them, even if it was just for a few minutes.  Unfortunately I didn't think to get a picture of them, but you can see Katie behind Adam to the right in the picture below - that's how close they were! (Neither party saw each other when they walked in)
Even before the trip, Zak kept asking Adam what character he wanted for his birthday cake, then decided he needed Iron Man.  So Iron Man it was

Josh was great on the trip out (slept much of it), but not so much on the way home.  Here he is playing with Adam
