Happy Birthday Grandma Barbara!

We got to celebrate Grandma Barbara's birthday with her on Saturday (on her actual birthday!) this year. She wanted to go to Sea World, so off we went (gotta get some more use out of the passes!) Zak really liked the dolphins, until they got up close and personal, then he wasn't quite so sure.

Grandma fed the dolphins too.

The otters were just floating and napping
We kept telling Zak that he was going to see Shamu in the week leading up to Saturday. The show wasn't until 12:30, so we went earlier for an underwater peek. Again, he wasn't so sure at first, then he warmed up to him.

We took a trip through the play area - Zak tried to get as many blocks in his hands as possible.
Me at 30 weeks pregnant (okay, so I was in the skinny mirror)
Zak kissing himself in one of the mirrors
Shamu! Shamu!

Zak and Daddy enjoying the show - he is always very serious when he's checking something new out

He's having fun now
Zak with Grandma Barbara & Grandpa Bob after lunch - he wasn't very cooperative (it was way past nap time), so this was the best we got.

Zak enjoyed the chocolate cake we had after dinner - it was amazing that he went to sleep without any problem - he was running around like a crazy man!

So tonight is Zak's first night in the big boy bed. Since his brother is due in just 10 weeks, we figured we'd better get him in there sooner rather than later. He's went down without a problem (we didn't even need to go lie down with him) and has been in there for about an hour - I can hear his cute little snoring through the monitor. We're keeping our fingers crossed that he stays in there all night.

It probably doesn't hurt that he had a very busy afternoon. We went over to the Gisler's to watch the Super Bowl. We brought the bounce house over so Zak, Jack and Jack's friend Nathan bounced around, then they ran around the house for the rest of the game - they had a great time. Zak still loves his new friend Luke. He also found a new friend - Nick's sister Tiffany. I can't even tell you how many times he said her name - he was even saying it on the way home. He just loves to flirt!

Over the past couple weeks Zak has been using 2 - 3 words at a time (which Teri calls sentences). It's so great that he can actually communicate with us even better now. He definitely has his own opinions. He refuses to sit in his highchair, so most of the time we get him in the travel highchair - but he's at the table like us (he wants to do EVERYTHING we do). We bought him a nice cushie booster, but he usually won't sit in it. He loves his movies, especially Shrek, although lately he wants Shrek 2 - he is very specific.

Every day he is doing something new.
