Vacation Week

So Teri was closed this week due to her vacation, so Zak stayed home with Grandma Barbara and Grandpa Bob on Monday, with me on Tuesday and Wednesday, and with Grandma Cindy on Thursday and Friday (Grandpa Gary flew in Friday afternoon). Amazingly this was the least amount of pictures that were taken by the Grandmas - they found out that watching a 15 month old little boy is harder than it looks... Breakfast time with G&G B&B

There's a story behind this - they fed him watermelon (which he loves) on Sunday after the zoo when he was wearing his white shirt, and it was pink by the time he was done - so this prevented watermelon getting all over the shirt...

Zak loves bathtime, especially Grandpa Gary's baths (although Grandpa always seems to teach him something that gets him into trouble, like throwing cups)
On Sunday we all went to the Sawdust Festival in Laguna Beach - Zak took his first bus ride (really a 1/2 mile trolley ride from the parking lot to the festival)- he was very unsure of it - he generally looked very serious and didn't understand why he wasn't strapped in to his car seat.

So it was a great week - lots of quality family time was spent. Zak's favorite things these days are books (and you can't resist reading to him - he will take a book and put it in your hand, and back up into your lap, or if you are on the couch he will try to climb up so he can sit on your lap) and phones. Today he was playing with the phone, and he called Auntie Allie. He had it in his hand and I heard a voice - he had called her. He has also called Uncle Kevin and Adam on separate occasions. He has two of his own phones, but he prefers the real thing (of course).

His current vocabulary includes recent new words such as grandpa, grandma, backpack, and bathtime. He will repeat many things you say. He knows his various body parts and will point to them when asked (ears, nose, mouth, feet - eyes are a little tricky). He did say eyes tonight. When you tell him to raise his arms, he will. It's amazing how much he understands.
