Birthday Zoo Day

We went to the L.A. Zoo on Zak's birthday. He had already been to the little zoo in Surprise, AZ, but since that was over Thanksgiving weekend, he was much more interested in all of the animals this time. As you can see from the pictures, he was pointing at all of them, and calling them all "dog".

I can't believe he's a year old already - it's amazing how fast this past year has gone. He's very close to walking, and says "Da Da", "Ma" or "Mom", "Hi", "Bye Bye", "Dog", "More", "Ball" and "That" pretty consistently. He says Da Da the most (although not necessarily always to Adam), and usually says Ma Ma when he's complaining. There are other words he says (we swear he said "golf ball" the other day while holding a plastic golf ball). He points at everything, especially lights. He's a really good little boy.
